Dry Needling is a form of therapy in which fine needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points (painful knots in muscles, tendons, ligaments or near nerves). This is done in order to stimulate a healing response in our patients' painful musculoskeletal conditions.
Utilized for improved motor control of the pelvic floor muscle to improve pelvic conditions including urinary incontinence, pelvic prolapse and pelvic pain. Synergy 3D software utilized with up to date biofeedback equipment.
Therapeutic Pilates Program
Classical Pilates based exercises modified to meet the unique needs of physical therapy patients suffering from musculoskeletal diagnosis that limit normal movement. We utilize a traditional Pilates reformer and tower with our program.
Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. A form of therapy where the therapist uses specially designed tools to manipulate soft tissue structures including scar tissue, tendons, fascia, and muscles. Various tools are utilized for cupping, stretching and scrapping to safely resolve tendinopathies, scar tissue problems and other soft tissue dysfunctions by stimulating the remodeling of abnormal scar or fibrosis.
Physical Therapy Services
The Body as a Whole
It’s not just the techniques that “we do” but we are recognized by how we integrate education, practice and research in being able to diagnose and intervene with all systems. The Movement System is the core construct of our body of knowledge. Too many Physical Therapists look at the patient by symptom or through the blinders of their particular specialty area. Cumberland Physical Therapy looks at the patient as a whole of anatomical structures and physiological functions that interact to move the component parts of “movement”.

By focusing on root causes and not just symptoms our vision is to also get the greatest pain relief and to improve each patient’s overall health and emotional well-being. As physical therapists we aim to teach and guide our patients in long lasting changes in modifying their activities and to take home a positive attitude with well thought out maintenance goals for their continued improvement.
